The MIA and Indian Grameen Services (the non-profit arm of BASIX) are collaborating to launch mutual & self-help based health insurance in Bihar.  In this collaboration, the MIA will steward the creation, promotion and management of micro insurance schemes through training, technical assistance and on-the-ground partnerships.

Cooperative Development Foundation (CDF), also known as Sahavikasa, promotes an environment in which cooperatives flourish as decentralized, democratic, self-help and mutual-aid organizations effectively harnessing and fostering local resources in consonance with the universally accepted Principles of Cooperation. CDF and MIA have joined forces to introduce cooperative-based micro health innsurance to its affiliated Swakrushi membership of over 500,000 vulnerable people in Andhra Pradesh.

Madhyam Foundation is a state level development support organisation which works with different stakeholders such as NGOs, MFIs, Financial institutions, Donors and Government Departments for the promotion of microfinance and livelihoods initiatives in Orissa. It specializes in working with small and second tier NGOs and MFIs in improving their governance, management practises, and information systems while increasing their outreach and their portfolio.  The MIA and Madhyam Foundation have joined hands with AWO International to promote a project that will help reduce the vulnerability of tribal communities in Orissa, and which will introduce over 100,000 people to community based micro health insurance in Kalahandi, Khurda and Malkangiri districts by 2010.
