Healthcare & The Poor in India

Learn the facts about healthcare expenditure in India, and why micro health insurance offers a better solution to the challenge of healthcare provision for the poor.

The Micro Insurance Academy & Save the Children create a consortium to introduce microinsurance to resource-poor communities in Nepal.

MIA and Save the Children plan to pursue a unique community-based approach in which local communities will have maximum involvement in designing the microinsurance products that meet their own needs, priorities, and affordability requirements.
The consortium invites expressions of interest from reinsurance and insurance companies to act as the Reinsurance Partner in this consortium. The call is open to reinsurance and primary insurance companies willing to provide reinsurance services to microinsurance schemes. The deadline for submission is 15 June 2008.
